Saying he has just accepted (after much hesitation) the offer from the grand duchess Hélène of Russia to come to St. Petersburg to conduct the first six concerts at the Conservatoire, one of which will be devoted entirely to his works, that the grand-duchess has promised him all the rehearsals he deems necessary, expressing the hope that of seeing Gaspérini before Berlioz leaves on about 12 November, etc.
